The opportunity

The School of Arts, Sciences, and Education (SASE) at Southern New Hampshire University's campus is seeking a Lecturer of Biology to work on-site on a temporary one year contract. This is a full time, face-to-face position at the traditional campus in Manchester, NH with an excellent benefits package. You will engage students both inside and outside the classroom. To be successful in this role, you should be passionate about teaching undergraduates and pursuing scholarly endeavors. You will report to our Dean of the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education. #LI-Onsite.

Located in Manchester, New Hampshire, SNHU is in the heart of New England. Within an hour of Manchester, you will find the beaches of the New England seacoast, the boating of the New Hampshire Lakes Region, the hiking and skiing of the White Mountains, and the culture of Boston, Massachusetts.

What you'll do:

  • Prep for and deliver content for assigned courses; teaching load is four 3-credit courses per semester. Class sessions are 75 minutes and meet twice a week.
  • Access and assess student work and provide timely feedback.
  • Use Brightspace (the Learning Management System) to support the course
  • 5 hours of office hours are to be provided. Additional hours for class prep and student assessment are expected.

What we're looking for:

  • Master's degree
  • 1 to 2 years' experience teaching at the college level in the classroom
  • Demonstrated passion for teaching students
