The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee as an Makerspace Assistant for our campus location. Makerspace Assistants are responsible for learning and becoming skilled users of the equipment, tools, and other technology available in the Innovation Lab and Makerspace. They are expected to aid students, faculty, and staff who want to use the space and available technology, and support its maintenance, operation, and mission.
Essential Duties:
- Assist users with 3D printing, laser engraving, and other technology or tools available in the Makerspace.
- Complete 3D printing and poster printing requests
- Ensure compliance with the rules, policies, and safety guidelines of the space
- Answer basic questions and give tours of the Makerspace, help to maintain a welcoming environment
- Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment, maintain inventory and basic cleaning/organizing of materials
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate is looking to build leadership skills, enjoy helping people and have excellent customer service capabilities. If you enjoy solving problems, trying new things, are a quick learner and have some experience with Makerspace technology such as 3D printing, CAD design or Adobe software that would be a bonus.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled in classes at SNHU
- Work Study as part of the financial aid package

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
