The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Student Ambassador at College Together. This position will be two fold; administrative and student council work. . Administrative duties are mainly supporting clerical work, while student council work focuses on planning/supporting student events.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Learning Lounge from morning opening to evening close during the week and possibly in the morning on Saturdays
  • Welcome all students entering the lounge
  • Foster a safe, productive learning environment for all students
  • Ensure the office is clean, items are put away, and all exits are locked at the end of each shift
  • Assist peers with signing into the Lounge, maintenance of the Lunch Locker, etc
  • Be engaged in student-driven efforts to improve the Lounge space and overall CT student experience
  • Support staff with outreach and facilitation of events, both at the Learning Lounge and possibly other locations.
  • Participate in Bi-weekly meetings, plan CT events, and work on new student initiatives
  • Work to support the College Communication Specialist as needed
  • Plan and distribute student interest surveys
  • Use data to inform CT events to fill the needs of the student population
  • Find opportunities for professional & personal growth of CT students
  • Keep records of meeting notes and projects
  • Submit a detailed proposal for every event, including pricing, materials needed, and any supporting documentation.
  • Promote an inclusive, safe, and CT community

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
  • Work study part of financial aid package
  • Students with work study may be prioritized

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Availability of up to 20 hours a week
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress
  • Related work experience like managing a front desk, being a key holder, or working security
  • The ability to show up on time and be ready to work
  • Comfort with computers, Gmail, and the Google Docs suite
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional behavior when working with students and staff
  • Professional dress when assisting with student-facing events

Work Schedule:

  • Mon-Fri (During business hours 9- 6 time slots available, not to exceed 20 in a week)

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
