Career Ambassadors represent the Career & Professional Development Office and provide support and information to best direct the campus community to our office. Ideal candidates will be warm and welcoming and willing to support all student, alumni, employer, and faculty/staff that visit or contact our office.

Ideal candidates will have exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Candidates must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with the team on a regular basis and have a willingness to jump in and take on additional projects as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcome visitors to the Career & Professional Development Center
  • Serve as initial point of contact for the Career & Professional Development Center, providing support for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Triage student, staff, and visitor questions/concerns and direct to appropriate campus resources
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a friendly manner and taking messages or transferring calls when appropriate
  • Schedule and manage student appointments
  • Provide support to the career team on office projects
  • Serve as the student face of the Career & Professional Development Center by promoting our services, resources, and events to the campus community via classroom visits and tabling opportunities around campus.
  • Assist with Career Development events in the following areas:
    • Preparing event resources
    • Event set-up
    • Event check-in
    • Support information tables
    • Event clean-up

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in campus classes as part of a SNHU degree program
  • Work study part of financial aid package
  • Students with work study may be prioritized
  • Must possess excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to work collaboratively with others and be flexible regarding assigned tasks
  • Ability to maintain privacy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer service or an office environment is preferred but not necessary
  • Professional demeanor

Work Hours:

  • Monday-Friday between 8am and 4:30pm with the occasional early evening hours for support of career events.
  • Hours will not exceed 20 hours per week, and typically range from 10 – 12 hours per week.

Compensation
