Southern New Hampshire University is looking for an Assistant Professor of European History. This is a campus-based, face-to-face position teaching traditional-aged students in a residential setting. You will report to the Dean of the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education. You will teach across national histories and serve students in the major and in our general education program, The Commons. The expected start date is August 2025.
This is a permanent, full-time, contractually-covered faculty position. The teaching load is between 3/3 and 4/4, depending on other scholarship and service contributions, with class sizes between 20 and 30 students. The load will include a teaching a first-year humanities course (specific topic of the instructor's choosing), and several upper-level history courses. SNHU faculty are teaching-centered scholars, so prior classroom experience teaching undergraduate students is required. #LI-Onsite
What you'll do:
- Prepare and teach courses following departmental needs and class schedules
- Maintain an active scholarly/research agenda
- Maintain 5 office hours or more each week
- Participate in departmental/University-wide service, including student advising
What we're looking for:
- Ph.D. in History (or affiliated discipline) in hand by the start of the fall 2025 semester
- Demonstrated face-to-face teaching experience as the instructor-of-record at the college level is required

Below we have noted the entire pay band for this position. The actual offer will be based on experience, skills, degree, discipline, and other business and organizational needs. We expect this particular positing to be hired in the following target range of $60,000-$75,000.

Compensation
The annual pay range for this position is $60,000.00 - $85,000.00. Actual offer will be based on experience, skills, degree, discipline and other business and organizational needs.Exceptional benefits (because you’re exceptional)
