The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is currently seeking a Student Worker as a Front Desk Assistant for the Residence Life Main Office. Front Desk Attendants are students who work towards the accomplishment of the goals and objectives of the Office of Residence Life through providing customer service, support and assistance to students and supports that walk into the office, call, or email. This position is open to any SNHU UC student. Living on campus is preferred but commuter students are also welcome to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be present, attentive, and accessible while working the Residence Life office desk

  • Answer community members’ questions or direct them to offices/resources where they can find answers

  • Be knowledgeable about campus events, department priorities, and department procedures

  • Manage the check in, check out of Res Life equipment to RAs and other departments as well as assist with maintenance of items rented

  • Submit maintenance requests as needed

  • Assist Office Manager and any Residence Life Central Office staff member in any tasks that are needed

  • Document any community members’ concerns or care concerns that arise and share with supervisor

  • Connect with Residence Life staff or Public Safety as needed if any emergent, escalated, or disorderly situations occur

  • Support the guest registration process

  • Assist with Residence Life bulletin board in Student Center

  • Help the office maintain an orderly appearance

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a full-time undergraduate student at Southern New Hampshire University

  • Work-Study as part of the financial aid package

  • Policy violations will be reviewed and considered prior to position offers or pursuit of candidacy in the selection process

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
