For hybrid roles, employees must be able to commute to Manchester, NH on a regular basis.

The opportunity

The Front End Web Developer reports to the Director of Web Development. You will design SNHU's web experiences. You will provide a variety of web application development services for a creative university and will improve the functionality and effectiveness of the university web properties with a laser focus on detail and provide guidance to fellow development team members. This is hybrid. #LI-Hybrid

What you'll do:

  • Build responsive, mobile-first web controls and components that meet usability and accessibility web standards.
  • Develop and implement custom CSS configurations using Tailwind CSS and Bootstrap
  • Build modular and scalable web components using TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Design and implement dynamic UI components using React, ensuring efficient state management and component reusability.
  • Implement UI, SEO, accessibility, usability, and performance best practices with equal importance.
  • Assess and remedy performance issues
  • Contribute, develop, and follow detailed technical specifications
  • Communicate with product owners, team leads, project managers, and internal partners to facilitate accurate deliverables.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and learning within the development team.
  • Perform code reviews and validate changes within pull requests
  • Partner with the UXD team to translate design concepts into functional and visually appealing front-end implementations.
  • Scope and estimate deliverables
  • Provide technical staff assistance
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and new technologies, evaluating their applicability to our projects and long-term goals.

What we're looking for:

  • Years of relevant or specific experience:
  • 3+ years of proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Typescript, along with expertise in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Academic Degree(s) and/ areas of study: Bachelor's degree in technical field or
  • 5+ years of experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
  • Requires the versatility to work well independently and within a team
  • Development skills in: HTML, CSS/SASS, JavaScript, C#, SQL.
  • Working knowledge of Web browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari), Windows, iOS
  • Experience with front-end build automation systems such as Grunt or Gulp.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency at writing reusable and modular code

Additional experience with:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in web development, demonstrating experience successful project delivery.
  • Experience developing specifically with Node.js, React and Next.js
  • Experience with Tailwind or other CSS Frameworks
  • Experience building UI libraries integrating with Storybook
  • Experience developing with containerized applications
  • Experience or knowledge of Monorepos
  • Unit Testing
  • Experience optimizing the Request Waterfall
  • Experience developing Headless web applications using a data tier using one or both of either REST or GraphQL
  • Experience with A/B testing, and implementing A/B and multivariate tests on landing pages
  • Proficiency in Google Tag Manager
  • Experience with Tracking campaign activity
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum or Kanban development lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with ADA/WCAG standards.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $88,726.00 - $141,987.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $98,042.00 - $132,644.00.
