This position is based in the following office location:
Manchester, NHThe opportunity
In this role for Breakthrough Manchester College-Bound at SNHU, you will mentor and support a group of roughly four-to-five dedicated advisors. Advisor Coaches will use their experience to provide critical feedback and scaffolding for dedicated advisors (college students mentoring high schoolers) growing as educators and future leaders. You will work part-time, up to 10 hours per week. You will work on site 1 Saturday per month at 2500 North River Road, Manchester, NH. Otherwise, your hours are flexible and most work can be completed remotely. You will report directly to the Director of College Access Programs.
The pay rate for this position is $30 per hour.
What you'll do:
- Track all communication between dedicated advisors and their advisees to provide oversight, feedback, and accountability
- Reach out to advising team once per week. Outreach should contain logistical reminders as well as provide the Coach Calendar for the corresponding week
- Respond to any advisor questions, or comments that arise during advising, offering support
- Provide specific, structured feedback and support on workshops that advisors run, including pre and post review, to coach advisor progress
- Plan and lead two special events (campus tour and community block) as assigned per grade level, with support of grade-level advising team
- Communicate with the Director about any advisor challenges, successes, or concerns
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's in Education or a related field
- 2+ years of teaching or working in education with high school students
- Understanding of the challenges facing first-generation and underrepresented students. Understanding of adolescent development, that of high school and college students, in addition to pedagogical frameworks and best teaching practices.
- Understanding compelling strategies to communicate with high school and college students.
- The ability to engage college students through digital mediums and platforms, but also the ability to critically reflect upon in-person workshops to provide specific verbal and written feedback.
- Self-motivation, self-regulation, and self-direction are necessary . Also, you must be detail-oriented and highly organized.

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
