Hiring FAQs

As a university providing online programs across the country, we value a diverse workforce that reflects the students we serve. That’s why we’ve created a culture that embraces distributed work. Most of the time, a remote role can be worked from any of our 30+ approved states.

Why only 30+ states? We've determined these 30+ states support our business needs when it comes to hiring for most full-time remote jobs at SNHU.

Sometimes, the nature of a particular role requires us to hire candidates from specific regions or timezones. If this is the case, we’ll always be clear in the job posting about what we’re looking for.

We’re so glad you applied. The short answer: it depends on the role.

Each application we receive is reviewed by a member of our team — that way, it gets the individualized attention it deserves. If a role receives a lot of interest, it may take longer for us to get through applications.

We know waiting is the worst part — we’ll get back to you as quickly as possible! In the meantime, you can always check your application status by signing in to your account.

External Applicants: With the email address and password you used to apply, you can sign in to your candidate account to view your application(s).

Internal Applicants: Current employees can access their application(s) by signing in to their Workday account and navigating to the Employee Jobs Hub.

You landed the interview — that’s awesome!

First, find yourself a quiet space with a strong WiFi connection. Test your audio and video beforehand. We don’t expect a movie set, but some good lighting and a clean background never hurts. You’ve got this.

If it makes you more comfortable to have your resume or a notebook nearby, feel free. And don’t forget to jot down any questions you have for us, too.

Congrats on getting to the next step!

The hiring timeline will depend on how many candidates we’re considering for the role and the number of interviews involved. We don’t want to keep you waiting — at each step, we’ll let you know when you can expect to hear from us next.

In most cases, there’s no need to reapply — your application will remain active for that opportunity, and we’ll reach out to you via email with any next steps.

If you’re unsure about your application status, you can always sign in to your account.

At SNHU, we are committed to creating an inclusive and transparent hiring process. Our Hiring Policy outlines the steps we take to ensure fairness, consistency, and a positive candidate experience from application to onboarding. Whether you’re applying for your first role with us or looking to grow your career here, this policy is designed to support you every step of the way.

We embrace innovation and recognize that AI can be a helpful tool during a job search. We also believe in authenticity, fairness, and the importance of showcasing your unique skills and qualifications. To ensure a fair and people-centered hiring experience for everyone, we ask all applicants to keep these principles in mind:

Reflect your true capabilities

AI may help to refine your resume and cover letter, but it's important that your application genuinely reflects your specific skills, qualifications, and key achievements.

Be your authentic self

We value thoughtful conversation and learning more about you. In interviews and assessments, we want to hear your ideas, insights, and lived experiences — not AI-generated responses. To ensure a fair process for all, these should be completed without AI assistance unless explicitly permitted.

Champion a fair process

We are committed to an equitable hiring experience. Your unique perspective is what sets you apart. AI tools should not be used to exaggerate qualifications or to bypass any interview step on your behalf, as this undermines the integrity of the hiring process for all candidates.

We are excited to learn more about you, your unique ideas, and the talent you would bring to our team!

At SNHU, we believe in the thoughtful use of technology and incorporate generative AI into our recruitment process with care, transparency, and human oversight. AI serves as a supplemental tool to enhance our efficiency, so our team can dedicate more time to engaging with qualified candidates, but final decisions regarding your candidacy are always made by members of our hiring team.

This includes editing messages and job descriptions for clarity and using AI tools to gather marketing insights or monitor hiring trends.

As part of our efforts to streamline candidate review and ensure alignment with role requirements, we use logic-based automation within our applicant tracking system to assist with the application review.

The criteria below were designed to ensure that applicants meet the minimum requirements for each role:

Location: Our roles have specific location requirements based on business needs. Each job description will list the eligible states where we are hiring for that position.

Education: Some of our positions require specific degrees or certifications (e.g. teaching roles). If that’s the case, it’ll be stated in the job description.

Pay Expectations: If your salary expectations fall outside of the posted range, your application may not move forward.

Internal Applicant: If you’re already a part of the SNHU team, you will be prompted to apply through our internal Employee Jobs Hub to ensure your application is properly reviewed.

Where Can I Find Guidance?

Every job posting details the must-have qualifications and eligible hiring locations for the position, so you’ll know right away if it’s a good match. We encourage you to review them carefully before applying. If your application is not moved forward based on these criteria, you will receive a notification explaining why.
