Learn To Be is a nonprofit that gives free 1-on-1 online tutoring to K–12 students from under-resourced communities. Every week, some students are waiting for a tutor. As an Operations Assistant, your job is to make sure none of them wait too long. You’ll work with and report to the Learn To Be Operations team.
We’re looking for someone who uses AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude extensively, and not just for homework help or the basic stuff. You’ve built real things with them: an app, an automation, a spreadsheet workflow, a custom GPT, anything. You’d rather figure something out than wait to be told how, and you care about kids getting a fair shot.
Speaking Spanish is a plus, since many of our families speak Spanish at home.

- Use ChatGPT, Claude and similar tools to speed up this work: drafting messages, cleaning up spreadsheets, spotting patterns, building small tools
- Tell the Operations team what’s broken in the process and help fix it.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
- Work study part of financial aid package
- Students with work study may be prioritized

Learning Outcomes (NACE Competencies)
- Develop Communication skills through phone, email and text conversations with families, volunteer tutors and Learn To Be staff
- Enhance Technology skills by using AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude to draft messages, organize data and build small tools that solve real problems
- Improve Critical Thinking by figuring out why each student is still waiting for a tutor and deciding how to fix it
- Build Professionalism through reliable weekly hours and follow-through on every family you contact
- Strengthen Teamwork skills by working closely with the Operations team
- Develop Equity & Inclusion awareness by working with families from many different backgrounds and communities
Work Schedule
15-20 hours per week on a consistent, reliable schedule set with Learn To Be’s Operations team. Late afternoons and evenings are a plus as that is when families are easiest to reach.
