The opportunity

The Academic Associate Vice President (AAVP) role at Southern New Hampshire University's (SNHU's) online Global Campus (GC), provides strategic, operational, and cultural leadership for academic programs by ensuring the delivery of high-quality, healthy programs and learning experiences; best-in-class learner-focused support; engaged and effective faculty; and high-functioning teams that are prepared to execute on institutional and academic programs priorities. The AAVP serves as an enterprise systems leader who connects people, strategy, and operations across academics and the wider SNHU eco-system to ensure that the institution's vision, mission, and strategic goals are met. They build organizational capability by developing leaders, fostering cross-functional collaboration and partnership, simplifying complexity, and leading strategic transformation that improves learner outcomes and institutional performance. The AAVP operates as an enterprise integrator aligning academic quality, portfolio health, talent capability, learner experience, and organizational effectiveness to position the institution for continued growth and innovation.

The AAVP role provides leadership for multiple academic programs teams, and coordinates and supports cross-unit functions and initiatives that are aligned to institutional and academic priorities. These priorities are primarily learner persistence toward graduation, and the efficient and effective use of team resources. They understand how to implement disciplined change within and across teams, support continuous improvement through optimization, and lead teams toward metric and financial results. In leading this work, the AAVP manages a team of Academic Deans and Executive Directors who are tasked with providing discipline-specific and cross-team leadership within academic programs, toward the goal of driving operational efficiency in a "whole-team" approach. They are well-versed in, and connected to, the national conversation regarding higher education, learning modalities, standards, and the development and assessment of student learning experiences. The AAVP reports to the Vice President of Academic Programs at Global Campus.
