The opportunity

The ITS Media Services Event Coordinator provides AV support for all business and academic events at SNHU. For a high volume of both onsite and virtual events, the ITS Media Services Event Coordinator works with a variety of business clients to coordinate the right systems and staffing for each event. We perform the analysis of requirements to meet event-specific needs. We do detailed planning for cameras, sound systems, video displays, lighting, microphones, streaming, music, and other AV support. This planning is for indoor and outdoor venues of all sizes. The ITS Media Services Event Coordinator manages the SNHU event schedule and orchestrates resources to deliver seamless event support – often in high-profile situations. We measure success for this role in consistent delivery of high-quality events for the SNHU community.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • You will manage the event support request process, gathering pre-production information, confirming requirements, and capturing all event details in ServiceNow.
  • You will partner with Conference Services, Admissions, SNHU leadership, and other event and facility partners. Together, you will manage the event schedule, and provide recommendations with adequate lead time for budgeting, staffing, and equipment planning.
  • You will coordinate comprehensive A/V services—including video support, livestreaming, audio, lighting, and related technologies—to meet event goals.
  • You will coordinate with external vendors for rentals or specialized services.
  • You will set clear expectations, manage schedules, and communicate with internal clients regarding event status, changes or issues. Ensure rapid resolution of technical problems to minimize disruptions.
  • You will keep the equipment storage area clean and organized, ensuring you keep all equipment in its appropriate locations. Also keep event tech areas neat, organized and clean.
  • You will provide on‑site and remote technical support during events, monitoring performance and troubleshooting issues in real-time to provide a high‑quality experience for presenters and attendees.
  • You will maintain, inventory, and manage the lifecycle of portable A/V equipment used for SNHU events, including evaluating existing assets and recommending new equipment to support future needs.
  • You will collaborate with capital projects teams to ensure installation of A/V systems in event spaces.
  • You will analyze historical event data and service metrics to produce schedules, status reports, and insights. You will monitor client satisfaction feedback and advocate for best practices for continuous improvement in event management.
  • You will oversee student worker event coverage by responding to inquiries, confirming schedules, coordinating equipment deployment and training, and ensuring appropriate staffing for authorized and scheduled events.
  • You will anticipate obstacles, identify risks, and resolve problems by providing guidance, and hands‑on support to deliver reliable and high‑quality service.
  • You will provide event support and coverage across SNHU Campus and Millyard locations.
  • You will occasionally assist our Audio Visual Technician(s) with installation and decommissioning of Audio-Visual equipment on SNHU Campus and at the Millyard.

What We're Looking For:

  • 1 -2 Years Experience with A/V or Event Technology
  • Demonstrated experience supporting audio/visual setups, presentation systems, or event technology in a live environment.
  • 1 or more years of experience with Event Coordination or Operations
  • Experience building events, including managing schedules, coordinating vendors, and overseeing setup/breakdown logistics.
  • Technical Troubleshooting in Real-Time Environments
  • Documented experience resolving technical or operational issues during live events or high-pressure situations, with evidence of maintaining service continuity.
  • Equivalent of experience in lieu of degree acceptable: ☒ Yes ☐ No
  • Professional Certification(s): Extron AV Associate, ITIL Foundations
  • Specialized knowledge:
  • Knowledge of acoustics, live sound reinforcement and sound processing equipment needed for clean audio.
  • Knowledge of video event production, live streaming technology, and best practices.
  • Understanding of ServiceNow ticketing system.
  • Experience with customer service support practices.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Premier and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and MS Teams.
  • Proficient in Windows and Mac/iOS platforms relative to AV connectivity and display settings.
  • Proficient in projector technology including LCD, LED, Laser, and wireless.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration,.
  • Time management, organizational and personal effectiveness skills.
  • Abilities:
  • Technical skills including capacity to logically troubleshoot and resolve complex technology issues.
  • Work efficiency and in high pressure situations.

Nice to Have

Working Conditions:

You will follow a flexible 40-hour workweek, with a typical schedule of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Hours may vary to support evening, weekend, or off-hours events, with schedule adjustments made to maintain a 40-hour total.

Physical Requirements:

We will ask you to safely lift and transport audio/visual equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, climb a step ladder, and stand for extended periods of time while performing job responsibilities.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $21.09 - $33.76. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $23.32 - $31.54.
